LING workshop
About the LING workshop:
Alongside creating art, Janice Jill also hosts ceramic classes in which she happily invites you to her atelier and shares her creative brain with you.She welcomes you in her creative place, located in Scheveningen just a few steps away from the beach. The atelier is small, intimate and filled with her work — shelves, tables and corners quietly showcasing the many pieces she’s shaped over the years. Being surrounded by textures, forms and colours, the space itself becomes part of the experience; a gentle, inspiring world where creativity unfolds naturally.
During the workshop you’ll be guided through the process of creating the classic LING candle holder. Janice will introduce you to the essential handbuilding techniques used to form its characteristic shape. Step by step you’ll learn how to sculpt, refine and assemble the different elements, all while adding your own rhythm and personality to the piece. Once your candle holder is complete, you can choose one of Janice’s unique glaze colours — a palette developed in her studio and truly different from what you usually find in ceramic ateliers.
Afterwards Janice will glaze and fire your piece, and it will be ready for pick-up once finished. The workshop is not a beginners’ class, but with a maximum of 4 participants per session, Janice can provide personal guidance to everyone, making it accessible for all skill levels.
Mind you; this workshop consists of two lessons of 2,5 hours.
